Is this a true-false question?   if so, it would seem best to mark it true.  or perhaps is this a prompt that's meant to get you started on an essay?   if so, start brainstorming thoughts about land ownership and feudalism and then start arranging an outline for your essay.the medieval economy ran on agriculture, so land ownership was the key to anyone's livelihood.  large landowners (nobility) controlled the land and the wealth that came from it.  common folk labored on the land as peasant farmers. they would owe a certain amount of their produce to the manor lord in exchange for the right to live and work on the land over which that lord claimed ownership.the feudal system has a role in all this too.  in feudalism, those at the top (lords or nobles, with the king at the top of the top) provided law and order and protection to those beneath them.  those at the bottom pledged their loyalty and service (taxes, duties, produce from working the land) to their lords and ultimately to the king for the ordered society protection they received from the higher members of society.all this presumes, of course, that people carry out their roles fairly.  too often in the feudal structure, those at the top demanded far too much from those at the bottom of the social order, and did not provide truly noble services or leadership to them.
