my lover is a woman

while that may not seem wrong

it is when i am a woman as well

its shun upon by everyone else

we're called slurs that cut like swords

my lover is a woman

a woman of great knowledge

at such a fruitful age

for she's been through more

had more hate

more eyes looking down on her

my lover is a woman

while that might upset some

and while it might make some look away

the love i have for this woman

can never go away
