A mean-spirited, wretched old man named Ebenezer Scrooge sits in his count-house on a frigid Christmas Eve. His clerk, Bob Cratchit, is shaking in the anteroom because Scrooge refuses to spend money on burning coal. Scrooge 's nephew, Fred, pays a visit to his uncle and invites him to his annual Christmas party. Two Portly Gentlemen, too, drop by and ask Scrooge for their contribution For charity. Later that night, after returning to his dark , cold apartment, Scrooge received a chilling visit from the ghost of his dead partner, Jacob Marley. Marley, looking haggard and pallid, tells his unfortunate story. As a punishment for his greedy and self-serving life, his spirit was condemned to wander around the earth weighed down by heavy chains. The Christmas Ghost Yet To Come leads Scrooge through a sequence of mysterious scenes relating to the recent death of an unnamed man. Scrooge sees businessmen discussing the wealth of a dead man, some vagabonds trading his personal cash effects, and a poor couple expressing relief at the death of their unforgiving creditor. Scrooge, ready to learn the lessons of his newest friend, begs to know The name of the dead man.Overwhelmed with joy by the chance to redeem himself and thank him for returning to Christmas Day, Scrooge rushes out onto the street hoping to share his new-found Christmas spirit. He sends a giant Christmas turkey to Cratchit 's house and attends Fred's party to the stunned surprise of the other guests. As the years go by, he holds true to his word and celebrates Christmas with all of us.
