Why are turtles important in indigenous beliefs? your own words pls :)

They are important because they have helped them throughout survival. Turtles were a large source of protein for the indigenous people. There are many turtles so indigenous people advantage. They are eating them all the time. So, they want to appreciate them for all they do and create beliefs about them.
