1. Imagine that you have just received a critique on one of your photographs. The following is an
excerpt from the critique
Overall the composition in this photograph is decent but there is a bit of unnecessary clutter
that makes it difficult to know where to focus your eye. It appears that you are trying to create
a mysterious mood with the lighting, but it is a bit too dark, making it difficult to appreciate the
details. And while the details are present they could be sharpened or blurred based on what
you want the viewer to focus on. The composition is quite symmetrical both vertically and
horizontally, however the rulelof thirds is not adhered to.
How would you respond to this critique? How would you allow this critique to guide your future
work? Explain
