Similarities between Impressionism and cubism

1) Impressionism is still representational, but with more focus on light and shadow and the effects on objects in different lighting. 2) Expressionism isn't representational. It can be raw or meticulous, but it doesn't look like real objects in real space. It's about ideas and feelings.

Cubism and Impressionism were very similar in the way they portrayed their art. They were different in the sense that impressionism still had a very realistic sense to their works while cubism was of subjects that were portrayed as rather distorted and abnormal.
