Visual stimuli are relayed through light entering the eye. The iris, the colored muscle in your eye, contracts and expands in order to let light into the retina. There are red, green, and blue color receptors in the eye that send light to the optic nerve. The left and right optic nerves cross over forming the optic chiasm which sends the information to the thalamus. The thalamus receives the information from the optic nerve and relays it to the visual cortex in the occipital lobe where it is processed. Associations occur and sense is made out of the stimuli.

The statement is correct because if there is a bunch of noise around you and you are focusing on the noise you will not comprehend your questions and lessons nor will you be able to get the proportion information you need and you will likely spend many more hours on work than normal than if you could ignore the sound
