Another example of religious syncretism other than voodoo that resulted from the Atlantic slave trade is Santeria.

Religious syncretism is the union of two or more different religious traits from a different origin. In the case of Santeria, it is a fusion of Catholic beliefs with Yoruba traditional culture.

Enslaved Africans brought their culture and worship to their gods to the New World, and to avoid being punished for their devotion, they worshiped Christian saints as manifestations of their own gods, originating Santeria.
