Based on the definition of neocolonialism, one can argue that coffee production is indeed neocolonialistic.

Coffee production shows this trend because buyers in developed countries set the price they will buy coffee from developing countries.

They therefore control the economic livelihood of coffee farmers and nations that rely on this revenue.

Kenya best displays this. farmers are paid very little and the government receives a lot. the government trades the coffee with foreign governments for other goods and support such as military and currency. even the prisoners work a lot hours to produce coffee for no gain of their own.
