Well it used to be different. I wasn't alive at those times but it sure had to be different.

In the 1950's country music came into it's own thing then came Rock n Roll came in the 60's. So with that being sid it was a change of genres and different style basically. People were trying new things. New sounds. Then it came to english, Irish folk songs. The banjo was created. People made more music with that. Then people began to record in a sense music being created in small communities. Some would play shows in bars. In time, these genres became known as "Oldtime music" . In time gospel music, R&B, Rock. In these times there were known as rich movements. People started coming out and growing love for music and making there own. Little by little the music industry was created. Hope this helped a little.
