Which three of the following features are used in the persuasive text below?
have you heard about the new plastic bag tax? wonderful, don't you think? it’s an easy and straightforward campaign that you can support without even thinking about it, isn't it?
in reality, of course, things are never that simple.
the trouble with "no brainers" is that those who come up with them are often the ones doing the least thinking. this tax, for instance, demonises plastic because its creators don't understand the relationship between litter and the environment. the public, however, deserves not lies but the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so let's demolish these ludicrous bag tax claims here and now.

On a certain portion of an experiment, a statistical test result yielded a p-value of 0.18. what can you conclude? 2(0.18) = 0.36 < 0.5; the test is not statistically significant. if the null hypothesis is true, one could expect to get a test statistic at least as extreme as that observed 18% of the time, so the test is not statistically significant. if the null hypothesis is true, one could expect to get a test statistic at least as extreme as that observed 82% of the time, so the test is not statistically significant. 0.18 > 0.05; the test is statistically significant. p = 1 - 0.18 = 0.82 > 0.05; the test is statistically significant.
