Instigated fear,tyranny,and absolute dictatorship over his people.By constantly presenting examples of punishments such as public executions,he was able to maintain and strengthen his monarchies significantly.However, the separation of the American colonies from Britain arguably was what had helped French citizens to realize the negative subjugation that they had been influenced by and so eventually overthrew Louis XIV
